Treatment of proximal tibia fractures with locking compression plate: a prospective study

چکیده

Background: With the rise in incidence of proximal tibia fractures India due to road traffic accidents, this prospective study was intended assess operative procedure management such using locking compression plate (LCP).

Methods: 30 subjects attending site scheduled undergo defined surgery were enrolled as per selection criteria.

Results: A total patients with enrolled. Majority cases RTAs, a higher types IV, V and VI. Average time for union fracture ranged from around 16-24 weeks. 23 treated ORIF 7 MIPO technique. Three different principles fixation done LCP, viz. compression, bridging combined. Functional outcome evaluated, which revealed excellent results 53.33% patients, good 30% fair 13.33% results, while 3.33% had poor outcomes.

Conclusions: Based on findings present we can conclude that overall Locking Compression (LCP) is useful adjunct trauma patients. The system its various type act biological including difficult situations.

Proximal femoral locking compression plate for proximal femoral fractures.

PURPOSE To review short-term outcomes of proximal femoral locking compression plate (PF-LCP) fixation for proximal femoral fractures in terms of postoperative complications and failure rates. METHODS Medical records of 21 men and 5 women aged 22 to 85 (mean, 49.7) years who underwent internal fixation with the PF-LCP for proximal femoral fractures were reviewed. Younger patients (mean age, 38...

Locking compression plate in the treatment of forearm fractures: a prospective study.

PURPOSE To evaluate the use of locking compression plates (LCPs) in diaphyseal forearm fractures. METHODS 9 women and 23 men (mean age, 35; range, 12-70 years) with 45 forearm fractures were treated by open reduction and internal fixation with 3.5-mm stainless steel LCPs. All patients were followed up monthly until union; the mean duration being 20 months. Radiographic assessment was performe...

Locking compression plate in treatment of forearm fractures: a prospective study.

I read with interest the article by Tezeren et al.1 They concluded that one-stage combined surgery without preoperative traction is effective in the treatment of developmental dislocation of the hip in older children, by virtue of a lower complication rate. However, the method of traction was not described. Divarication traction has been reported to increase the risk of avascular necrosis becau...

A Pitfall in Fixation of Distal Humeral Fractures with Pre-Contoured Locking Compression Plate

Anatomically precontoured locking plates are intended to facilitate the fixation of articular fractures and particularly those associated with osteoporosis. Fractures of the distal humerus are relatively uncommon injuries where operative intervention can be exceptionally challenging. The distal humeral trochlea provides a very narrow anatomical window through which to pass a fixed-angle locking...

Treatment of Unstable Trochanteric Femur Fractures: Proximal Femur Nail Versus Proximal Femur Locking Compression Plate.

Unstable trochanteric femur fractures are common fractures that are difficult to manage. We conducted a prospective study to compare functional outcomes and complications of 2 different implant designs, proximal femur nail (PFN) and proximal femur locking compression plate (PFLCP), used in internal fixation of unstable trochanteric femur fractures. On hospital admission, 48 patients with unstab...
